About the role

LinQuest is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator II to join our team in our office in Beavercreek, Ohio. Active Top Secret clearance is required

The Senior System Administrator II will assist the LinQuest Corporation Security Program with implementing and maintaining physical and virtual information systems and coordinating with our government customers to implement their chosen network configurations. Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of program information systems at all levels of classification. The Senior Systems Administrator II will partner the on-site Dayton Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) with implementing appropriate secured configurations on information systems under the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Will safeguard information systems against unauthorized use, infiltration, exfiltration, modification, destruction, or disclosure of national security information.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with government customer information technology admins and end users to implement, install, and maintain the customer’s provided network and end-client system configurations.
  • Partner the on-site ISSM and government Information Assurance (IA) personnel with hardening and security management of all installed classified networks within the secured facility, as well as assisting in RMF accreditation package preparation.
  • Develop and maintain access and authorization accounts for information systems.
  • Configure and maintain networked virtual machine (VM) computer systems, including hardware, system software, and applications.
  • Ensure data is stored securely and backed up regularly.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise.
  • Replace and upgrade defective or outdated components when necessary.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure Servers/VM systems run smoothly and securely.
  • Research and recommend new approaches to improve the company’s information systems.
  • Provide technical support when requested.
  • Develop and document processes which team members need to follow to successfully work within the program computing system.
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, VM’s, laptops, desktops computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, and required security updates.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Information System configuration documentation.
  • Server, workstation, and VM operating system/application installs, hardening, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform data transfers between different networks, if needed.
  • Other security related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 8 + years of network or system administration experience
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience with the following:
    • VMWare Horizon/ESXi
    • Linux
    • Storage Device Management (i.e. SAN and/or NAS)
    • Cisco Call Manager
    • Windows Server Management (i.e. Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.)
    • Switching, routing, and firewall configuration and management
    • Application configuration (i.e. patch management, auditing, vulnerability scanning tool configuration to include SCAP/DISA STIG’s)
  • Demonstrated Security experience (evidenced through work experience, college coursework, military or on-the-job training)
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance-monitoring tools
  • Must possess organizational, accuracy, detail-oriented, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Communicates with contacts within and outside of own department and may occasionally have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.).
  • Active Top-Secret clearance required and must be maintained

  • Familiarity with DoD regulations such as DCSA Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM), Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications (SP) and National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) (preferred)
  • Experience working with DCSA (formerly DSS) (preferred)
  • Experience configuring systems to meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements (preferred)
