SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

Direct manufacturing to achieve production goals at the lowest cost while maintaining acceptable quality levels and on-time deliveries.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

The major results to be produced by the job are as follows:

 

1.   Direct the manufacture of product at a predetermined cost, acceptable quality and on-time to meet customer needs.

2.   Organize, select, guide and motivate personnel to function at their highest level of efficiency enabling them to perform a variety of functions.

3.   Investigate, then initiate corrective action on product scheduling or machine assembly problems.

1. Review plan production schedules to coincide with customer requirements.
2. Direct the preparation of annual department budget, then review performance against it.

6.   Maintain safe work areas and good housekeeping.

1. Maintain a “union-free” operation.
2. Initiate new management concepts and technologies to ensure continued improvement that maintains competitiveness in the market place.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

 

Plans, monitors, and controls the productive processes if the factory to maximize on-time delivery opportunity and enhance shop area efficiencies.  Control and disseminate all relevant product delivery information and develop actions to correct delivery deficiencies.  Maintain order integrity and workflow throughout the factory areas through personal interface, utilization of various schedules, and initiation of actions to correct noted problems.  Control the executing of the master production schedule by reviewing all critical action points, work closely with Managers, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Control, Purchasing and other functions, as required to ensure performance.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

 

• Bachelors Degree in a business related field.
• 5 years experience in a managerial capacity.
• Must be conversant with and have applicable knowledge of production scheduling systems.
• Working experience in a job shop machining environment is a must.  
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
