Lab Technician Assistant 3-Physician Services

Inova Physician Services located at 8260 Willow Oaks Corporate Dr #650, Fairfax, VA 22031 is looking for a dedicated Lab Technician Assistant 3 (LTA 2) to join their team! This role will be Full Time Evening Shift: Monday-Friday, 7am-330pm

Job Responsibilities

• Reviews system pending reports (WCP, WQS, PLR, PTR, etc.) for reference Laboratory tests and resolves problems.
• Performs proper specimen collection by confirming patient identification, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques and accurately labeling specimens to ensure accurate patient results.
• Maintains a clean, orderly and well stocked department and notifies appropriate personnel of shortages.
• Demonstrates organization skills by prioritizing collection requests/blood product inventory needs.
• Accurately labels smears, media plates, centrifuge tubes (urine or otherwise), etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience: 5 years of experience working in a clinical lab environment or as a phlebotomist; 1 year working in an Inova laboratory

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience: 
  • Must be proficient with venipuncture
  • EKG experience preferred
