Flight Software Engineer (BT-25035)

The Fight Software Engineer will support the Orion Program contract in Denver, CO or Houston, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide software development and scripting of LM Orion simulation tool and related applications.
• Develop, integrate, and test new algorithms for evaluation of vehicle and mission performance.
• Develop requirements documentation for mission design products as required.
• Provide recommendations for improvements in design and software development processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

• This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering, or a related field. Computer Science background is beneficial.
• Must have 7+ years of recent and related work experience.
• Must have experience with flight software development, test, and integration.

• Experience with the development of spacecraft mission design algorithms.
• Experience analyzing spacecraft performance.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux.
• Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink knowledge/experience,
• Detail oriented.
• Experience developing, verifying, and validating simulation models.

DESIRED:

• CFE/CFA experience
• Development simulations & development software, RPOD (rendezvous proximity operations and docking) SW experience, RTEMS/RTOS support

WORK LOCATION:

• This position is located onsite.
• This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
• This position may require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time).
• May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
• Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
