Upper School Learning Lab Teacher - 2025-26

Mission: To assist Christian parents by helping equip students to embrace Biblical truth, strive for academic excellence, and model Christ-like leadership to influence their homes, churches, and communities for Christ.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work all assigned sections of Learning Lab, including specific times before or after school.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to plan for and support potential or identified sources of a student’s difficulty within the academic setting.
• Acts as a liaison between teachers, parents, and administrators for students participating in Learning Lab.
• Provide academic coaching and executive functioning support to students in the Learning Lab program.
• Encourage students to analyze, reflect and personalize their study habits to gain an understanding of their learning style.
• Provide support and training to students with identified learning differences, including ADHD, Dyslexia, and Anxiety, and provide guidance and strategies to mitigate any negative impacts of these variables.
• Attend grade level and divisional meetings to discuss students of concern and obtain feedback about students in the Learning Lab program.
• Communicate with teachers and parents via email and in-person consultations to ensure effective collaboration and support.
• Utilize Blackbaud, the online learning management system, to manage student data, provide online resources, track student progress, and compile data that summarizes student growth.
• Promote a positive and safe environment for students to navigate and grow through challenges.
• Maintain a clean and organized space for students to learn.
• Demonstrate the ability to create connective relationships while maintaining authority, boundaries, and discipline. Ideal candidates have exceptional classroom management skills.
• Facilitate general academic support for students in Learning Lab through multiple formats (1:1, small-group, classroom, etc.).
• Effectively manage and complete multiple tasks at a time, maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrate exemplary personal and professional integrity.
• Analyze multiple data points (qualitative feedback, observations, standardized testing, classroom performance, etc.) to inform holistic solutions.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information, including academic records, evaluations, and sensitive conversations.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops; reviewing professional publications, and/or participating in professional organizations
