Network Engineer Senior

Overview
DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Network Engineer Senior to join our team on an upcoming Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA) IT Support Services contract. The Network Engineer will install, configure, maintain, and document all networking devices within all applicable JPRA networks.
This position is On-site in Ft. Belvoir, VA.
Duties & Responsibilities
This includes, but is not limited to the following areas of responsibilities:
Architect and Design
- Work with the Contract Program Manager, Site Lead, and the network team to review and provide recommendations for existing network architecture design and improvements.
Implementation
- Install physical network equipment to include, but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, and encryption devices into network racks as needed.
- Install and run network cabling in buildings to include, but not limited to single mode/multi[1]mode fiber and category 5e/6/6e/7 cable as needed.
- Be proficient in cable termination of category 5e/6/6e/7 and single mode/multi-mode fiber.
- Deploy non-secure/secure network telephones. Work with the host base to get phones online and functioning.
- Work with the Audio/Video team and facilities personnel to install and configure VTC
- Work with host base to request and deploy base owned and supported network devices.
Troubleshooting
- Provide Tier I and II levels of troubleshooting as required.
- Work with third party vendors and DISA in support of networking equipment.
- Assist Audio/Video team with all network related issues as they pertain to VTC’s and the Phone
- Work with outside entities to troubleshoot and correct issues outside of JPRA control.
Security
- Apply/Update iOS software to all networking equipment on supported JPRA networks to maintain USCYBERCOM IAVM compliance.
- Apply/Update DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) to all networking devices.
- Comply with all USCYBERCOM TASKORDS, WARNORDS, FRAGOS, OPORDS, and GENORDS.
- Comply with all Air Force TO’s, CTO’s, MPTO’s, AFI’s, AFMAN’s, and local policies.
- Work with the Information Assurance team to remediate all discovered vulnerabilities within a timely manner.
- Implement and maintain Virtual LAN’s (VLAN) in accordance with DISA STIGs.
- Implement and maintain 802.1x port-based Network Access Control.
- Implement and maintain Network Access Control through the use of Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) services
- Manage perimeter network security; maintain remote connectivity through the use of Firewalls, VPNs, and TACLANES.
Documentation
- Document current network configurations.
- Provide detailed and accurate network drawings.
- Provide design and implementation documents for Program Manager, Site Lead, and government review for new installations and equipment upgrades.
- Provide written After Action Reviews for all network outages to the Program Manager and Site Lead for review and up channeling to the government customer.
- Create user based documentation to assist customers in the use of end-user based equipmentand applications.
Equipment Acquisition / Accountability / Disposal
- Research and provide recommendations for network infrastructure related equipment.
- Work with vendors to obtain government pricing quotes for equipment.
- Input Purchase Orders into the government provided Purchase Order system.
- Inventory, asset tag, and add to inventory database all network equipment received.
- Update inventory database when equipment is moved, fielded, or removed from service.
- Work with and assist all equipment custodians with annual inventory of equipment.
- Work with and assist all equipment custodians with DRMO process of equipment that is no longer needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering or computer science.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of IT network administration or network engineering experience.
- Must possess at time of start a minimum current final SECRET security clearance and be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance.
- Candidate must possess at time of start a minimum IA Security certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M at the IAT-II level.
- IAT-III level certifications are also acceptable.
- Candidate must possess a Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) certification at a minimum, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification preferred.
