Job Description:

   

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software for operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.

The subscriber services group develops software for subscriber management features that run in HPE’s embedded edge routing platforms as well as in HPE’s cloud-native applications. The Subscriber Management feature set provides high scale, highly available network access to a service provider’s regional/core networks. Candidates must have experience in the following disciplines:

Responsibilities: 

  • Gathers, documents, architects, designs, implements and delivers requirements by meeting timeline and quality guidelines
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

Education and Experience Required: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically 6-10 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Strong programming fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python
  • Familiarity with object-oriented design and programming principles
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development environments and associated tools
  • Understanding of operating systems and computer networking concepts
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated track record of taking initiative and being resourceful
  • Ability to work collaboratively and solve problems
  • Strong communication skills, especially written

  • Embedded operating system environments
  • IPoE/PPP Network stack
  • DHCP/PPP/L2TP Protocols
  • Routing principles
  • Class of Service principles
  • Container principles and construction
