Process & Quality Engineering Co-Op

The Process and Quality Engineering Co-Op will help test and validate systems on an on-going basis. This position will be assigned to a particular area and work on a project, using problem solving techniques; generating documentation necessary. You will work under and be given direction from senior engineers on a daily basis.

This is a Co-Op position, working 40 hours per week, during a 1-3 semester duration and requires in-person interaction. This is not a “summer-only” role.

 

This position will serve our Water Heater Division, located in Montgomery, AL. 

• Assist engineers with daily activities
• Production assistance projects
• Identifies issues and recommends solutions.
• Creates quality/process documentation.
• Designs quality standards, inspects materials, equipment, processes, and products.
• Develops quality control systems.
• Cost improvement projects
• Scrap reduction projects.
• Train people on the floor.
• Asist with problem solving techniques to the production floor.

 

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. 
• Interest or experience in problem solving.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles (time-studies, standard work, etc.)
• Strong planning skills
• Good presentation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and computer skills (Excel, Power Point, Word)
