Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from a LinkedIn office on select days and from home, as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role will be based in San Francisco or New York.

LinkedIn is seeking a strategic and creative communications professional for the role of Leadership Communications Director. We’re looking for someone who has demonstrable experience in owned storytelling and the ability to craft compelling narratives across owned channels and formats (posts, newsletters, videos, podcasts). The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the emerging media landscape and brings strong relationships with influential creators to amplify LinkedIn’s stories in authentic and engaging ways.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team that serves as an owned-content, emerging media, and measurement & analytics center of excellence.
  • Set the vision and strategy for our leader’s owned-content across LinkedIn and other social platforms as well as LinkedIn’s Pressroom. Pilot emerging formats and channels to reach key audiences.
  • Collaborate with partners across Brand Social and Marketing on emerging media planning and execution.
  • Manage and build relationships with top creators to drive story opportunities for LinkedIn and our Executives. 
  • Develop proactive/reactive messaging, briefing and FAQ documents for creator and emerging media engagements.
  • Provide regular counsel to the global team on emerging media and creator best practices, trends, and learnings.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 11+ years in related PR or external communications
  • 7+ years of people management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leader with a track record of building, inspiring, and leading high performing teams
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Established as a go-to expert in the emerging media and creator landscape, including well-developed and well-maintained relationships and a portfolio of examples that drove business impact
  • Proven ability to set creative and effective owned-content strategies and to coach the team through the execution of tactics
  • Tenure working in horizontal roles with colleagues across different functions and geographies
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with executives

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.    

The pay range for this role is $180,000 to $282,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
