About the role

General Profile:

The AGS Knowledge Management group is currently in search of a passionate Technical Project Manager / Knowledge Engineer. This individual will play a crucial role in enhancing productivity within the field by creating innovative solutions for capturing, validating, and delivering actionable information. An ideal candidate would have a combination of equipment technical understanding, project management skills and knowledge management experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

Manage Knowledge Management Projects and Programs:

  • Develop and execute project plans, including defining scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Track and report on project metrics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Gather User Insights:

  •  Conduct user research and interviews to understand user needs and pain points.

  •  Analyze user feedback and data to identify trends and insights.

  •  Utilize user insights to inform the design and development of knowledge management solutions.

Create Requirements:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document project requirements.

  • Translate user needs into clear and actionable requirements.

  • Ensure requirements align with business objectives and technical feasibility.

Work with GIS to Develop Software Solutions:

  • Collaborate with multiple GIS teams to develop software solutions globally.

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in the development of GIS applications.

  • Ensure software solutions meet project requirements and user needs.

Manage Testing and Feedback:

  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure software solutions meet quality standards.

  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback from stakeholders.

  • Address feedback and iterate on software solutions to improve functionality and usability.

Perform Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

  • Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Use data analysis to drive informed decision-making and improve knowledge management strategies.

Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends:

  • Continuously research and stay current on industry trends and best practices in knowledge management.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within KM projects and programs.

  • Share knowledge and insights with the team to foster a culture of continuous learning.

Collaborate and Communicate:

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to share progress, gather feedback, and align on project objectives.

  • Provide regular updates and reports to management on project status, risks, and opportunities.

Skill Summary:

Project Management: Strong project management skills to effectively plan, organize, and execute technical projects. Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to gather and document project requirements. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge and experience with various technical tools and software, including:

  • Microsoft Word: Proficient in creating and editing documents, including project plans, requirements documents, and technical specifications.

  • Microsoft Excel: Advanced skills in data analysis, manipulation, and reporting using formulas, pivot tables, and charts.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint: Proficient in creating impactful presentations for project updates, stakeholder meetings, and executive briefings.

  • SharePoint: Experience in using SharePoint for document management, collaboration, and project tracking.

  • SQL: Understanding of structured query language (SQL) to analyze and retrieve data from databases.

  • Software Development: Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience working closely with software development teams.  Prefer some formal experience or education in at least one development language.
