What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Job Summary
The Senior Coordinator, Inventory Management analyzes existing inventory and resolves inbound discrepancies in order to drive the operational efficiency of pharmacy warehouse operations. The Senior Coordinator validates inbound shipments, places electronic orders, creates standard inventory reports and forecasts, and leads regular cycle counts. By ensuring the quality and efficiency of inventory management, this job contributes to customer satisfaction and minimizing the facility’s expenses.


Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in lead, training or senior role preferred.

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred.

  • Previous material handling equipment experience (PIT) preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills preferred.

  • Ability to follow direction and change priorities while working independently or as a member of a team.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience working within AIMS/WMS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventory accuracy by managing product holds, product movements, physical returns, purchasing of products and automated tracking of inventory.

  • Monitors quality and productivity metrics, including damaged products, adjustments, shortages, and cycle counts. Communicates regularly with the Supervisor and other internal departments regarding inventory accuracy and quality metrics related to specific products or customers. Coordinates with outside vendors to secure supplies for operational needs.

  • Investigates outbound discrepancies by checking for differences between physical counts and WMS records. Identifies and reports variances to Customer Care team and ensures that customers are shipped variances promptly, and documents all variances and issues in line with SOPs.

  • Resolves inbound discrepancies by initiating communication with external suppliers and coordinating with Quality Assurance teams. Makes necessary adjustments in the WMS and determines implications for customer order fulfillment.

  • May determines proper resolution of discrepancies and other operational errors to ensure that customer commitments can be fulfilled in scheduled timeframe. Promptly communicates the root cause and resolution to the Supervisor, Manager, and other internal stakeholders as necessary to minimize future errors.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve operations and mitigate risks in inventory control and broader operations. Provides input into operational excellence initiatives through Supervisor and Manager.

  • Acts as a resource to other team members by instructing Associates on complex picking, put-away, and replenishment tasks to maximize inventory accuracy. Demonstrates flexibility to support daily operational needs.
