Position: Application Technical LeadStart Date: - ImmediateMinimum Term: - 6 months, renewable Requirement Description: -The Application Technology Lead is a member of the Enterprise Solutions and Applications team and is primarily responsible for overseeing design, implementation, governance, and quality for various initiatives. While broad technical knowledge is required for this position, core technology expertise in Microsoft platforms, specifically in .NET. The individual will be assigned to various projects and will need to govern a potentially broad technology stack (from Operating System to Middleware to Development Tooling to Application) while providing design / solution support for complex requirements, always keeping the enterprise architecture roadmap in mind. This individual is also responsible for establishing future application strategy and roadmaps for various technologies working with the business units and our service providers. Specific responsibilities: Ensures continuous integration and deployment pipelines are maximally effective at managed costs. Contributes to review processes of all new or modified pipeline build configuration, scripts, and external dependencies Coordinates planning and approval discussions for build and deployment infrastructure changes Design and lead the implementation of technical solutions across business applications based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements. Work closely with functional and technical teams to drive technical design decisions; able to identify gaps in vendor solutions Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements. Define the principles, guidelines, standards to align any solution decisions with the enterprise's future- state architecture vision. Ensure enterprise architecture guidelines are followed and present any new guidelines to Architecture Review Board (ARB) Develop and provide input into the roadmap for the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from current to future state (as defined by the enterprise architecture). Experience/Skills Required: 10+ years IT experience with at least 5+ years as a Lead particularly in.NET development. Strong understanding of designing secure cloud-based applications and services including authentication, authorization, role-based access etc. Understanding of Azure platform services, understanding of their capabilities and limitations and being able to architect and deliver solutions leveraging various platform services is highly desired. ESB, Streaming / Messaging, and API Management platforms experience highly desired. Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling (such as Azure DevOps) is a plus Experience with build and test tooling such as MSBuild, dotnet, Node.js/NPM, Angular CLI, Maven/Gradle Diagnoses build failures and poor performance; able to evaluate, present for discussion, and implement improvements Coaches and evangelizes the organization’s DevOps practice and pattern precedence, while inviting improvement through iteration and new ideas Solid programming skills using Azure platforms, SOAP / REST Web Services, XML, JSON, JavaScript and modern JavaScript front-end framework, such as Angular, React, or Vue is highly desired. Experience with database access protocols such as ODBC, JDBC, SQL Understanding of container concepts, such as Docker and / or Kubernetes, is desired. Understand the various disciplines of application architecture, including development, integration, security, reporting. Ability to develop prototypes to test design decisions is required. Performance tuning of cloud-based applications for best performance Ability to research and assess new tools and platforms from both a technical and cost feasibility perspective is required. Industry experience in insurance/reinsurance, is highly desired. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership abilities. Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience. TOGAF Certified, or similar is preferr
