Job Description

This role will have Disciplinary and target reporting to regional Product Area (XC-CE/PAV-NA) in the North America market location, with alignment to the Global PA Engineering head. The regional engineering head will oversee the Software, System and Validation& Verification (V&V) Team and provides the required competences and required capacity to support projects planning and execution.

This leader works to ensure that the products are delivered based on best engineering standards and in compliance to Bosch Development processes.  

He is Responsible for regional customer relationships and possibly first point of escalation on technical topics and understand the local market needs with respect to the product and technical propositions.

Detailed Tasks/ Responsibilities

• Manages customer relationship. Balancing the needs of our customers and the needs of the business
• Work closely/align with project managers on required resources to support product development and project execution according to projects needs.
•  Ensure the compliance of internal and external regulations and quality policy
• Maintenance of the system and software and V&V engineering process and documentation (methods, templates, etc.)
• Build competence in the region and maintain awareness related to global standards and expectations
• deliver the technical work products according to engineering and quality standards and ASPICE requirements
• Ensure technical content according to estimated budget and timing. Adhere to R&D budget
• Escalate staffing conflicts / challenges
• Identification, establishment, planning, coordination, monitoring and controlling the activities, tasks, and resources necessary for any assigned requirement to produce a product and/or service, in the context of the requirements and constraints
•  Decide, delegate and monitor/control topics in the assigned range of power
•  Escalate to upper management as appropriate
•  Keep technical overview in regards of goals/strategy and results for the group
•  Shape and ensure the collaboration inside the organization. Work collaboratively across global product teams to align product area initiatives
• Coaching of the development projects in the application of systems and software engineering
• Lead problem solving activities to address any technical/ design issues coming from customer side.
• Drives regional requirements into product and technology roadmap
• Strong alignment within global engineering team and engineering heads for the engineering strategy.
• Regional engineering/ global assets use.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. 
• Systems Engineering, Software Engineering Strength and Verification and Validation testing (Full understanding of the V-model).
• Knowledge of Hardware/ Mechanical requirements.
• 3-5 years leadership experience. 
• Interpersonal skills (Cooperation, Communication).
• Professional skills (Breadth of Experience, Depth of Knowledge).
• Business planning and Controlling skills.
• Organizational, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Quality mindset.
• Highly motivated to solve complex problems and continuous improve.
• Applied Familiarity of SW Development Process via the V-Model of System and Software Design and Development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management skills.

• Experience in overall successful project execution and oversight to ensure development teams have properly planned, set up project schedules, identified, hired and trained staff for project execution, and provide oversight that the team executes to the established schedule and cost objectives.
• Understanding of ASPICE Requirements and Application Thereof.
• 8+ years of technical experience, which may be in the field of electronic hardware, software, or systems engineering, or a combination of all these.
• Experience in supporting pursuit activities, including bids and proposals.
• Experience presenting to technical audiences.
• Foundational knowledge with Agile and DevOps.

• Strong network into Global Engineering community.
