About the role

The Administrative Support Specialist and Advisor plays a vital role in supporting faculty, staff, and students, and serves as the academic advisor for the DNP: Nurse Anesthesia Lifespan concentration. 

Administrative Support 

  • Maintain databases for clinical requirements and faculty/student records.
  • Manage NURSYS and SharePoint documentation.
  • Provide committee support (e.g., Faculty Organization, RTP).

Reappointment, Tenure, & Promotion (RTP)

  • Coordinate RTP documentation and peer evaluations.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty on RTP processes.

Recruitment, Admissions, & Advising

  • Support DNP: NA-L recruitment and admissions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for applicants and students.
  • Coordinate orientation and assist with student concerns.

Faculty & Staff Searches

  • Support hiring processes via Interfolio.
  • Coordinate onboarding and ensure compliance with clinical and payroll documentation.

The ideal candidate will possess the following: 

  • Proficient in basic accounting and data entry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, and managing external databases (AACN, CCNE, TN BON).
  • Works independently with strong time management.
  • Sets and meets goals and deadlines.
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively and delegate when needed.

Minimum Qualifications: 

High school diploma or GED and three years of office experience in a fast-paced setting. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree and experience with delegation and conflict management; and experience with outside constituencies/stakeholders.
