Looking for a veterinary technician role where no two days—or patients—are quite the same? East Holmes Veterinary Clinic in Berlin, Ohio, is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician, veterinary technician student, or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our emergency support team.

As a multi-doctor mixed-animal practice, you’ll care for everything from dogs and cats to livestock, production animals, pocket pets, birds, reptiles, and more while working alongside a supportive team dedicated to exceptional medicine.

What You’ll Do

  • Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgery.
  • Monitor anesthesia and surgical patients.
  • Provide attentive post-operative monitoring and recovery care.
  • Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples.
  • Place IV catheters and support fluid therapy.
  • Dispense and administer medications as directed.
  • Assist with laboratory and diagnostic testing.
  • Obtain high-quality digital radiographs.
  • Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients.
  • Assist with the care and handling of small animals, livestock, and exotic species.
  • Educate clients about treatments, medications, and veterinary recommendations.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and teammates.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and support staff.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and jump in wherever needed.
  • Support emergency cases as part of the hospital’s on-call emergency services.
