Job Description

The surgery orderly/nursing assistant serves as the primary patient transport person.

Job Duties

• Assist with patient care and function as a messenger when needed.
• Transfer, transport, move, lift, and position patients.
• May scrub for cases if indicated.
• Assists in maintaining a clean safe environment, which includes stocking designated supplies and assists with cleaning between surgical procedures.
• Trained yearly on age specific care and completes core competencies for patient populations designated in the Scope of Service.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED is required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Heavy Lifting and moving is required.

Preferred Requirements

• Previous healthcare experience is helpful.
