Principal Associate, Cyber Technical

We are seeking a Principal Associate, Cyber Technical who enjoys solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, inclusive, and iterative delivery environment. This position is in the Cloud IAM org within the Cyber line of business.  We ensure the security of our AWS identity perimeter while preserving and enhancing Capital One’s developer experience.  We build tools and platforms used by almost every developer in Capital One.  The cloud security policies we implement are a key part of keeping Capital One’s customers and data safe.

 

As part of this role, you and your team will be responsible for ensuring Capital One implements applications safely and securely in the Cloud.  You will dive deep into new cloud capabilities and help identify risks and build solutions to enable their safe use in Capital One.  You will work with internal and external auditors to demonstrate our ability to secure our cloud infrastructure.

• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions

• Leverage the IAM capabilities of AWS to assess and/or design technical controls and solutions

• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech and cybersecurity trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community

• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity

• Work across the organization to improve the velocity of your and other teams

• Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into Cloud environments

About You:

• You have strong consulting and analytical skills

• You have breadth in knowledge of AWS services  

• You have the ability to foster collaborative, open, working relationships with technology groups and other stakeholders, including vendor relationships 

• You have demonstrated clear communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization, and to influence senior management and executives (Including translating technical information based on specific audiences)

• You have experience driving results in high-impact, highly-visible projects

• You have a passion for cybersecurity and the cloud.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

• At least 4 years of experience working in cybersecurity or information technology 

• At least 2 years of experience managing technology projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science

• 4+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into products

• 3+ years of Cyber project management experience

• 2+ years of experience in technical writing 

• 2+ years of hands-on JIRA experience

• Experience in regulated financial services organizations or tech companies

• Professional certifications (SAFe PM/PO, CISSP, GIAC, CISM, CCSP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Security)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $165,100 - $188,500 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Technical

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
