JOB TITLE:
Teacher, Early Childhood - Lead Preschool Teacher
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment where children have the ability to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in compliance with National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) guidelines. This includes a deep-level understanding of NAEYC standards to maintain a classroom portfolio for the accreditation process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize and provide developmentally appropriate early childhood education programs; plan and implement curriculum and education for children ranging in age from 12 weeks to five years old.
- Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels, interests, and learning styles of children.
- Plan and prepare classroom setting; oversee safety and educational programs; supervise children in the classroom; provide a supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviors.
- Interact with parents and community groups; maintain open and cooperative communication with parents and families, encouraging their involvement in the program and supporting the child's family relationships.
- Compile individual assessments of child's development through observation using digital portfolios and referencing the Wyoming Early Learning and NAEYC standards.
- Participate in teaching undergraduate and graduate early childhood education labs, as appropriate.
- Participate in research programs concerned with improvements in early childhood teaching methods, as appropriate.
- Lead, guide, train or mentor staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation.
- Serve as a mentor and supervisor to students enrolled in early childhood education programs. Provide guidance, feedback, and support to students during field placements, practicums, and research projects. Model best practices in teaching and professional conduct.
- Attend and actively contribute to staff planning, training, evaluations, meetings, and professional events.
- Acknowledge and act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the center and the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.
- Operate a classroom/program in compliance with all state childcare center licensing standards, Wyoming Early Learning standards and NAEYC accreditation criteria.
- Share in the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the center and perform other duties deemed necessary for the successful operation of the center program.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education (must have certification or endorsement in early childhood), or early childhood special education
Experience: 1 year experience teaching in an early childhood setting
Required licensure, certification, registration, or other requirements:
- CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in teaching preschool age children
