Summary:
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, collaborates with the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Space Vehicles Directorate and Simulation & Assessment Branch to drive innovation in space and multi-domain technology development. The team focuses on designing, engineering, and transitioning advanced experimental concepts that enhance Warfighter capabilities across ground, near-space, and space environments.
This role involves conducting system-level integration, testing, and operations of components and subsystems for defense-related missions, anchored by physics-based Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A). The work also includes collaborative integration with other Department of Defense entities to ensure comprehensive combat power projection, space superiority, and strategic control. Cutting-edge autonomy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques are applied to maximize operational impact and validate new technologies through rigorous experimentation and demonstration.
What you will do:
As the Operations Research Analyst 4, you will serve as the Lead Analyst to create and conduct studies and analyses relevant to space superiority and multi-domain operations; you will oversee the development of tactics, techniques, and procedures to advance the creation of tools supporting Space Domain Awareness and Space Control Analytics. Your daily activity involves gathering data to support the running of experimental simulations while using analytics to define problem sets. In addition, you will be responsible for light-weight development and translating trusted government agents needs to a definable problem set for software engineers.
• Assessing the space enterprise’s effectiveness against threats, identifying capability gaps, recommending, and assessing mitigation activities
• Analyzing and providing recommendations on issues dealing with disciplines such as military command control and communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Rules of Engagement, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises
• Coordinating with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives
• Analyzing the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers or simulated wartime operations undertaken to main the capabilities of a force
• Applying emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations
