We are looking for a Business Controller to perform the financial planning analysis for the North American Toluene Diisocyanate (TDI) value chain. This is a key position in the Monomers controlling group located at the administration offices in Wyandotte, MI, reporting to the Head of Controlling (N-CMN/C). As a business unit controller, you will be responsible for the financial reporting of the TDI value chain produced at the BASF Corporation Verbund manufacturing site located in Geismar, LA.

 

As a Business Unit Controller, you create chemistry by...

 

• Managing the monthly financial process, reviewing all aspects of the financial closing to ensure accuracy in the reported results and to facilitate the timely dissemination of financial information.
• Serving as a change agent within the business to proactively identify, communicate and implement opportunities for key process efficiencies to improve overall business/financial operations.
• Acting as an integral member of the CMN team, with an expectation to openly speak your mind regarding business concepts, proposals, strategies, and accounting/controlling topics.
• Coordinating and owning business reviews, monthly forecasting, annual operating plan and strategic planning processes for the supported businesses. This includes timely preparation of reporting along with a thorough analysis of results and projections for the future to facilitate effective management decision making.
• Supporting the commercial team with analytical tools and processes to ensure that price execution is optimized. 
• Performing formal risk and opportunity analyses. 

 

If you have...

 

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• 7+ years of Finance experience (Example: Profit/loss statement and balance sheet analysis, business reviews, annual/strategic planning process) 
• Advanced knowledge of SAP financial systems 
• Proven track record of working under multiple deadlines
• Ability to work well within a team and speak up when needed.
