Senior DevOps Engineer

The ideal candidate will join our existing DevOps team within the <strong>QAD Engineering division</strong>.</p><p>The DevOps team is responsible for <strong>designing</strong>, <strong>implementing</strong>, and <strong>maintaining</strong> our <strong>infrastructure</strong> and application <strong><em><em>deployment</em></em> toolset</strong>, as well as being DevOps evangelists for QAD. The DevOps team works closely with our development, cloud operations, technical quality and observability teams to streamline our release, <em><em>deployment</em></em> and cloud operations processes.</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Design</strong>, <strong>implement</strong> and continually <strong>improve</strong> product release <em><em>automation</em></em> for QAD applications.</li><li><strong>Build</strong> and <strong>maintain</strong> the continuous integration and continuous delivery (<strong>CI/CD</strong>) pipelines for QAD products.</li><li>Drive enthusiasm and promote adoption of the principles and philosophy of the DevOps methodology across all engineering and operations teams.</li><li>Mentor and share <strong>best practices</strong> and new technologies across the organization, including <em><em>automation</em></em>, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and monitoring.</li><li>​​Continuously <strong>improve</strong> our DevOps processes and practices to <strong>optimize</strong> efficiency and reduce downtime.</li><li>Work with the development teams to <strong>define</strong> and <strong>implement</strong> automated build and testing strategies.</li><li>Design, implement, and maintain our infrastructure as code (using <strong><em><em>Terraform</em></em></strong>) and <strong>Gitlab pipelines</strong> to enable efficient release, <em><em>deployment</em></em> and management of QAD’s products.</li><li>Utilize Helm to manage <strong>Kubernetes</strong> applications and facilitate <em><em>deployment</em></em> orchestration.</li><li>Implement and maintain <strong>ArgoCD</strong> for continuous delivery of applications to Kubernetes clusters.</li><li>Collaborate with development teams to <strong>optimize</strong> application performance, scalability, and reliability in <strong>production environments</strong>.</li><li>Collaborate with our Observability and Cloud Operations team to monitor and maintain the <strong>health of our infrastructure</strong>, ensuring high availability and performance.</li><li>Stay up-to-date with industry trends, <strong>best</strong> <strong>practices</strong>, and emerging technologies in DevOps and <em><em>cloud computing</em></em>.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>What you'll need:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Bachelor's degree</strong> in <em>Computer Science</em>, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li><strong>5+ years </strong>of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer or similar role.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>Strong proficiency with <strong>GitLab</strong> or equivalent for <strong>CI/CD</strong>.</li><li>Solid experience with <strong><em>Terraform</em></strong> for infrastructure as code.</li><li>Experience with containerization technologies such as <strong>Docker</strong> and container orchestration platforms like <strong>Kubernetes</strong>. </li><li>Experience with <strong>GitOps</strong> (<strong>ArgoCD</strong> or any other) for continuous delivery to Kubernetes.</li><li>Experience with <strong><em>AWS</em></strong> or <strong>any other public cloud</strong> service and a good understanding of <em>cloud computing</em> principles.</li><li>Experience with build tools such as <strong>Maven</strong>.</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Your health and well being are important to us at QAD.
