Job Summary

We’re seeking a dynamic Culinary Retail Manager to lead daily operations of campus retail dining at Wingate University. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial leader with a passion for great food, team development, and customer experience. You'll oversee staffing, financials, inventory, and execution of culinary programs, ensuring a high standard of service and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Lead all daily retail dining operations and administration

• Hire, train, and manage hourly team members

• Oversee financials: budgeting, forecasting, and reporting

• Maintain inventory and manage procurement

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards

• Drive customer satisfaction and foster positive client relationships

• Launch new culinary programs with internal culinary and marketing teams

• Stay current with market trends and apply them to menu and service improvements

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Culinary degree or A.A. degree with relevant experience

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in foodservice; campus, healthcare, or hospitality a plus

• Strong leadership and team development skills

• Knowledge of retail dining trends, cost controls, and high-volume food production

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems

• ServSafe® Certification required
