Position Overview:
Seeking a Senior Technical Lead (Engineering & Architecture) with expertise in cloud computing and microservice architecture. Must be proficient in AWS services, Kubernetes, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience in data modeling, high-performance data processing, and efficient data pipelines for complex financial applications is required.
Our Impact:
The Investments & Capital Markets Division is responsible for executing liquidity, financing, credit risk transfer and derivative transactions as well as managing Freddie Mac’s portfolio of single-family securities and loan investments in the retained portfolio. We also lead certain enterprise-level functions related to financial/capital/risk forecasting, model governance, payments, counterparty risk and third-party risk.
Your Impact:
You will work with a team to implement the Investments & Capital Markets Business Technology Office (I&CM BTO) Data & Architecture strategy. You will collaborate closely with Business Engineering, Financial Engineering teams, Enterprise technology partners, and other division architects. You will also engineer the cloud strategy for I&CM’s SDLC tool chain.
Qualifications:
- Over 15 years of experience in software development and engineering; Experience in finance is advantageous
- Extensive knowledge of cloud computing concepts and architecture, distributed systems, big data architecture, and high-performance computing
- Proven ability to plan and lead large-scale engineering and re-engineering efforts within the Mortgage/Securitized Products sector
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a detailed understanding of capital markets and mortgage products
- Proficient communication and negotiation skills
- Capability to analyze and navigate complex codebases across various programming languages, with a thorough understanding of software design, system architecture, and implementation details

- Evaluate software design for functionality, performance, and maintainability

- Utilize mortgage/securitized products domain knowledge to establish credibility with quantitative developers on other teams
- Encourage innovative thinking to solve problems and make decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver complex strategic initiatives
- Strong attention to detail, process management, and task ownership
- Operate in a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment and manage multiple tasks
- Identify and escalate risks and impediments effectively
