Description
The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music seeks a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Music to serve as the Assistant Director of Bands.
Serve as the assistant director of the Cowboy Marching Band, including teaching responsibilities, participation in the creative design process, drill design and/or music arranging, student leadership development, and other administrative responsibilities. Conduct the OSU Concert Band. Direct or co-direct the OSU Spirit Band (basketball pep band). Teach courses in music education according to the candidate's expertise. Assist with the observation of instrumental music education student teachers. In addition to instructional assignments, all music faculty are expected to engage in departmental, university and professional service.
Non-Tenure Track, Visiting Assistant Professor. This is a nine-month contract with two additional months of summer salary in your capacity as assistant director of the Cowboy Marching Band. Salary contingent upon funding availability.
Beginning date: July 1, 2024
Qualifications
Earned doctorate preferred. Masters required. Evidence of successful teaching experience at the university level preferred. Background in public school music education preferred.
