As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Loan Trading Technology, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities
- Leads multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide technology objectives
- Directly manages multiple areas with strategic transactional focus
- Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business
- Acts as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus across competing objectives
- Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training on software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience
- Hands on experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists
- Practical cloud native, Kubernetes experience
- Experience in modern architecture, distributed architecture, Rest and messaging frameworks like Kafka
- Experience in Sql, Oracle
- Demonstrated prior experience influencing across matrix organizations and delivering value at scale
- Experience managing stakeholders, working with operations to gather requirements and negotiate projects scope
- Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
Preferred qualifications
- Syndicated loan trading or servicing tech experience
- Experience working in AWS - EKS, ECS, NoSQL databases
