New Business XoL Underwriter - NYC

Reporting Line: Head of New Business, XoL

 

XoL underwriting uniquely includes elements of Commercial Underwriting, New Business Broker Management, Relationship Management and Risk Underwriting. This role would focus on New Business, to support growth and the maintenance of a profitable portfolio for Allianz Trade XoL Americas

 

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

 

Commercial underwriting & relationship management

• Utilizing commercial underwriting guidelines, underwrite and negotiate policies for new business according to our growth and profitability objectives.
• Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
• Build close relationships with a portfolio of broker and agents.
• Work with our Regional Broker Management team, Direct Sales Force management, and Multinationals sales teams, to drive revenue and achieve growth goals.
• Meet with prospects and brokers/agents as needed.
• Work independently on other tasks assigned.

 

Risk underwriting & credit analysis

• Underwrite, review and monitor buyer credit limit requests for our clients and prospects, within individual authority levels and respecting target response times.
• Contributes to the overall profitability of our portfolio.
• Assess and validate a client’s credit management procedures.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or related discipline.
• 2-4 years relevant working experience, for example in credit insurance, finance or credit management

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills

• Good business and commercial awareness and experience of credit or financial assessment.

• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Planning, organizational and workflow prioritization skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

• Communication and negotiating skill
• Looking for candidates that possess a basic awareness of Artificial Intelligence technologies and are enthusiastic about learning and intergrating AI intergrating AI into everyday business processes.

 

 

Total compensation range:

$90,000 - $110,000

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
