The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Internship experience in external communications preferred
  • Media relations, marketing, content, and social media experience preferred

The Purpose of Your Role

As a Specialist in Fidelity’s External Newsroom, you will be responsible for supporting public relations activity aimed at enhancing Fidelity’s brand as a financial services leader. You will work across Fidelity, including with the business unit and marketing teams, to support earned and paid media opportunities, including the development of “buzz-worthy” news and content that will influence external stakeholders’ perception of the brand. You will work closely with Fidelity’s public relations agency of record, leveraging their creative and content expertise and maximizing their media relationships.

  • You are detail-oriented and can help the Newsroom team with its editorial planning to create greater impact in the marketplace.
  • You have strong writing, editing and research skills and can support a multi-faceted public relations team, from owned channel management to media partnerships to speaking opportunities.
  • You understand social platforms (Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube) and are knowledgeable about various platforms for channel management and media tracking and measurement.
  • You are a creative thinker and idea generator, have a proven track-record of demonstrating initiative.
  • You are a fast learner who is open to feedback and hungry to keep learning, and who thrives in a collaborative, team environment and can partner effectively and creatively with all types of personalities.

The Value You Deliver

  • Assisting with public relations campaigns that will enhance external stakeholders’ perception of a brand.
  • Supporting “out of the box” media and content concepts that will push the brand to try new things and stay relevant with external stakeholders.
  • Measuring the effectiveness of communications programs to include creation and assembly of communications reports.
  • Assisting in the development of content to support public relations efforts, with a particular focus on social media, video, thought leadership and media content, and manage a proactive editorial calendar for the enterprise.
  • Managing multiple and simultaneous projects, ensuring that all efforts meet Fidelity’s high standards in the areas of accuracy, ethics, legal and compliance.
  • Being part of an integrated team across Fidelity’s Corporate Affairs organization.

The base salary range for this position is $47,000-$74,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
