Job Description

With more than 50 years’ experience in the crop protection industry, EAS offers a unique portfolio of expertise, providing extensive laboratory and field support across multiple industries including agrochemical, biopesticide, pharmaceutical, biocide, and fine chemical manufacturers.
When you join the EAS Group, you’ll become an integral team member in supporting laboratory and business processes through technical operations and physical activity while building upon a versatile skills set.
Job Responsibilities (include, but not limited to, the following):
May perform the following duties under the direction of a Research Scientist.
· General farm maintenance.
· Sample collection and documentation.
· Set up and maintenance of research plots.
· Assist with pollinator studies.
· Assist with trial applications, including calibration of equipment and application parameters.
· Documentation of apiary, plot maintenance, irrigation, environmental conditions and crop conditions
· Other work-related tasks as assigned
· Travel may be required
· Exempt status
Training of Good Laboratory Practice Standards and Data Integrity will be provided
Physical Requirements
· Work involves standard laboratory, greenhouse and field settings, with ability to operate farm, laboratory equipment and the handling of bee equipment.
· Aware of, and observe, appropriate health and safety precautions associated with one’s normal activities and ensure subordinates’ compliance as well.
· Required to frequently stand, walk and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Assistance should be sought for weights over amount employee is physically able to carry
Qualifications
Education Requirement
· Minimum requirement; AA degree or equivalent. High school diploma with appropriate work experience
Job Requirements
· Valid driving license
· General knowledge of farming and greenhouse operations
· Ability to operate farm equipment, including tractors and spray equipment
· Ability to perform farm operations, including planting, maintenance and harvest of agricultural commodities.
· Ability to work with or around honeybees.
· Ability to read and understand US and metric measurements.
· Verbal and written communications skills
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions
· Ability to tend to details
Additional Information
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m., with overtime and some weekend shifts required as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Mebane, NC are encouraged to apply.
