The Associate Director of Congress Planning and Medical Education Execution will play a strategic role in supporting the continued commercial success of our newly acquired COPD asset.
This role is responsible for leading and executing comprehensive congress strategies and medical education initiatives that advance the scientific and clinical understanding of respiratory diseases and related therapies. This role supports the implementation of integrated congress plans and educational programs that align with the Respiratory strategy and scientific priorities. The role works cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Global Medical Communications, Commercial, and external stakeholders to ensure effective scientific exchange, thought leadership presence, and education execution.
This position will be based in Upper Gwynedd, PA and will report into the Director, Scientific Strategy.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of respiratory congress activities, ensuring alignment with global and regional scientific priorities.
Translate scientific strategy into operational Congress plans, including abstracts, presentations, symposia, booth design, scientific engagement activities, and stakeholder interactions. Guide logistical planning and vendor coordination to support pre-, during-, and post-congress deliverables, ensuring scientific quality, compliance, and execution excellence.
Execute medical education initiatives aligned with the Respiratory scientific strategy, including independent medical education (IME) programs and scientific exchange platforms.
Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to identify unmet educational needs and deliver high-quality, evidence-based educational content. Engage external scientific experts, KOLs, and medical societies to ensure relevance, credibility, and excellence of educational deliverables.
Define and monitor congress and medical education KPIs and success metrics with robust post-event analysis to inform future strategy and maximize impact.
Serve as a strategic partner to Scientific Strategy leadership, providing input on congress prioritization and integrated medical education agendas.
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the enterprise including Medical Affairs, Outcomes Research, Global Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance
Partner with cross-functional teams (Medical Affairs, Marketing, Field Medical, Compliance, Medical Communications) to ensure cohesive, data-driven communication objectives and operational plans.

Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (BA/BS). MBA or equivalent preferred.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience across marketing, sales, market access (or related experience) in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
Preference for experience in Medical Affairs or related scientific strategy roles and congress planning and medical education execution in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
Strong scientific/clinical acumen; ability to translate scientific/clinical data into marketing strategy
Experience working cross-functionally in matrixed organizations and influencing external partners and internal stakeholders
Demonstrated understanding of industry compliance and regulatory frameworks governing scientific engagement
Significant strategy development experience
Has a growth mindset, advocates for agile ways of working, and supports team members in learning and adoption
