Highly preferred that candidate is Bilingual in Spanish and medical office experience preferred.
M-F – 8:30-5 no holidays or weekends.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for facilitating patient care within and between the Heartland Health Centers and within the AIMMC system, as directed by the provider.
- 7)Coordinates service with other associates to ensure minimal patient wait time.
- 1)Translates Spanish/English, as needed.
- 2)Provides/reinforces discharge instructions as directed by the provider.
- 8)Serves as patient chaperone as requested by provider.
- 9)Performs other duties as assigned.
- 3)Assists patients in obtaining additional services as ordered by the provider; makes appointments for the patient as needed.
- 4)Notifies provider regarding patient needs and changes in condition.
- 5)Coordinates activities to promote patient satisfaction.
- 6)Schedule appointments with provider at Heartland Health Center, AIMMC OB/GYN Treatment Center and Antenatal Resource Center.
- Clerical duties
- 1)Reviews/updates appointment schedules, organizes workflow, informs provider regarding delay/status changes. Rearrange patient schedules as needed for patient care/staffing.
- 2)Maintains daily and monthly visit logs.
- 7)Completes forms as necessary for patients, ordering durable medical equipment as needed.
- 8)Maintains patient education materials in exam rooms, reaching out to representatives as needed for restocking of materials.
- 9)Answers telephone calls/voicemails, transfers to appropriate department/person, and takes messages for call backs.
- 3)Prepares monthly summary of visit for Heartland Health Centers - Wilson and AIMMC Nurse-Midwifery supervisors.
- 4)Maintains logs of EDCs, transfers, referrals and ultrasounds. Updates logs on a regular basis as needed. Creates and maintains new record keeping forms and statistics dependent on service needs.
- 5)Reviews and prepares medical records for visits. Initiates search to locate missing information before visit.
- 6)Scans lab results and other documents into patient electronic charts.
- 10)Maintain a clean, orderly work environment.

Education/Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- 1-2 years' experience in an ambulatory care setting or related area.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with computers.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to work varying shifts to meet needs of Health Center. Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and/or 10-20 pounds constantly. Able to respond quickly to patient needs and work at a fast pace. Work environment includes probability of exposure to adverse, hazardous or unpleasant conditions while caring for the sick. Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of a fire or other disaster. Routinely works with potentially infectious specimens and patients.
