Job Description

The Associate Buyer position is a key support role within our strategic plan for Operations & Supply Chain management. Responsible for material replenishment and the flow of finished goods, components, and raw materials.  Work effectively with all functional areas to meet the goals and objectives of the business regarding cost, inventory levels and supplier quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute procurement of raw materials from global suppliers.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and key suppliers to monitor open purchase orders and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Proactively report product and material availability issues.
  • Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials and components in conjunction with our program management teams.
  • Revise essential ERP planning/replenishment data to ensure our system is effectively supporting future requirements.
  • Responsible for managing the Company’s annual inventory count process at the facility.
  • Supplier Management: RFQ, Cost saving initiatives, Negotiations, Supplier relationship/evaluation.
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain team and ITW Platform personnel to leverage best practices and purchasing power in support of manufacturing and other business initiatives.
  • Responsible to ensure that relevant external requirements are met (e.g. ISO 9001)
  • Support all supply chain related issues.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to effectively utilize the ITW toolbox to assess and balance the supply and demand needs of the business.
  • Accountability for the tactical execution of departmental roles and responsibilities defined in the Loma RASCI diagram.
  • Create reports and manage KPI data as assigned by the Operations Manager.
  • Serve as back up to other functional areas of the Operations Department.
  • In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by their manager that are essentially related to their duties.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with at least 1 year of previous supply chain (planning & procurement) experience required.
  • Technical aptitude with experience working with drawings, dimensions, and custom engineering parts.
  • Some experience with ISO 9001 quality control systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application.

  • Good analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
