Director of Strategic Finance

We’re looking for a talented Director of Strategic Finance to lead high-impact financial initiatives across acquisitions, corporate finance, investor relations, and strategic modeling. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the business, with a hands-on focus on deal execution, scenario analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

This role is well-suited for someone with a foundation in investment banking or management consulting who has successfully transitioned into the fast-paced environment of a startup or scale-up in a business development or corporate development role, and thrives in high-growth, rapidly evolving settings.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Identify, assess, and support strategic partnership and M&A initiatives from end-to-end — including financial modeling, due diligence, deal structuring, and integration planning.
• Evaluate strategic partnerships, investments, and expansion opportunities.
• Support fundraising activities including strategic investor discussions, creating fundraising decks, populating and managing data rooms, and due diligence.
• Collaborate on board materials, internal strategy updates, market and industry analysis.
• Build dynamic financial models for various business scenarios, including fundraising, acquisitions, and strategic pivots.
• Conduct detailed situational analyses to support high-stakes decision-making.
• Help craft the financial narrative for existing investors and potential partners.

Qualifications and Skills

• 5+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, strategic finance, and/or a high-growth startup/scale-up environment, within the defense industry. 
• Proven experience executing M&A deals and/or capital raises.
• Expert in financial modeling, valuation, and scenario planning.
• Clear, concise communicator who can translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Highly collaborative and comfortable operating cross-functionally.
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts and attention to detail.
• Exposure to board or C-level reporting.
• Familiarity with startup fundraising cycles and investor relations.
• US Citizenship required, with eligibility for secret clearance.
