We are currently seeking a Manager of Transportation to join our Calhoun, GA, location. This position is responsible for leading and executing Stanton’s international & domestic transportation. The position will source, negotiate and implement the most cost-effective transportation methods.
Ownership of Responsibilities Include: (but not limited to)
• Full transportation P&L responsibility.
• Leads & owns continuous improvement for all mode and carrier selection processes.
• Network optimization and carrier negotiations for ocean, LTL, Truckload and Parcel.
• Working with domestic freight carriers to improve service and reduce claims, which ensures best-in-class service and visibility for our customers.
• Develop and maintain collaborative long-term relationships with carriers and business partners (brokers/freight forwarders/terminals) to foster continuous improvement.
• Leverage our significant parcel quantity to negotiate the most cost-effective rates and benefits.
• Work closely with IS to automate & integrate carrier transactions to provide the highest visibility of cost and performance.
• Work closely with IS to automate the soft and hard surface carrier selection process.
• Plan the tendering of loads based on the required service.
• Work closely with internal teams & carriers to understand root causes of freight damage and implement new strategies to mitigate / eliminate.
• Strong ability to manage & leverage multiple locations.
• Strong ability to greenfield and negotiate pricing on additional warehousing locations.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies
• Initiate requests for quotes/proposals and analyze proposed pricing from potential suppliers.
• Hold carriers accountable for cost, service, and capacity commitments.
• Work with sales team to ensure efficient and timely execution of loads.
• Provide proactive communication on service failures and field requests for status updates on critical shipments.
• Partner and collaborate with many department heads / other functional areas
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Include:
• Prefer 10+ years of logistics/procurement experience, previous knowledge of the transportation industry, experience with a Transportation Management System
• Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
• Demonstrated understanding of procurement and supply chain processes, including development and execution of strategy and processes
• Ability to multitask and operate in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Top-notch communication skills, both verbal and written, with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to work comfortably in a collaborative team environment
• Experience with AS400
• Experience with CAMS is a major plus.
