Task requirements Domestic Considerations:There is no local English-language schooling for children. Should the incumbent arrives accompanied, children will have to go to the British School in Gdansk, where almost all international Staff send their children.
Gdansk is a city of about 650,000 people with an airport with Ryanair and Wizzair flights to London. It is about an hour’s commute from Elblag each way. Many international staff carpool between Gdansk and Elblag.
Also note that there are few people who speak English in Elblag outside of the HQ, so partners may wish to take Polish lessons.
Position Role: Principal advisor on all training and exercise matters. Coordinates training and exercises, plans, policies and procedures in close coordination with all staff branches within the HQ and NATO Force Structure (NFS) commands
Responsibilities:
1. Principal advisor on all training and exercises matters.
2. Formulates training and exercises, plans, policies and procedures in close coordination with all staff agencies within the MND NE and NFS commands.
3. Support in the Education Training, Exercise and Evaluation (ETEE) review process and development of the NATO Military Training and Exercise Programme (MTEP).
4. Oversee the planning and conduct of training to ensure the MND NE capability to command and control within the NFS concept.
5. Contributes to concepts and formulates plans and participates in the formulation of policies and procedures to advise the Commander on all training and exercises matters.
6. Represents MND NE HQ and coordinates training and exercises activities with superior, adjacent and appropriate national headquarters and NFS entities.
7. Draws conclusions from training and exercises and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements and amendments to policy and future activities.
8. Be prepared to act as MEL/MIL Chief and provide G7 SME leadership to EXCON when the Division delivers the training of its Brigades
