Position Summary
The Sr. Director/Vice President is responsible for the overall operational performance and execution of TSS’s security services operations across multiple U.S. port locations. This role provides leadership and oversight of a large, multi-state field organization delivering security services across cruise terminals, cargo facilities, petrochemical sites, and other 24/7 port environments.
The position leads operational management across several regions and is accountable for workforce execution, compliance, safety, operational readiness, and financial performance across both seasonal cruise operations and year-round security sites. The role oversees approximately one million annual labor hours and manages a geographically distributed operations leadership structure.
In addition to day-to-day operational leadership, the Sr. Director/Vice President will lead the development and execution of the company’s operational strategy for port security services, supporting long-term growth planning, operational scalability, and service model development.
This position serves as a key member of the operations leadership team and contributes to enterprise operational strategy, organizational planning, and major business initiatives. The role works closely with executive operations leadership responsible for the overall performance and strategic direction of the business.
Operational Scope
The Sr. Director/Vice President oversees a national security services operation with the following scope:
- Operations across 8+ U.S. ports and regions, including Florida, Texas, California, Washington State, and New Jersey
- Leadership of a field organization including:
- Director of Operations
- Regional Managers
- Senior Operations Managers
- Operations Managers
- Oversight of approximately 800 hourly employees across full-time and part-time roles
- Management of approximately one million annual labor hours
- Operations supporting both seasonal cruise activity and year-round 24/7 security sites
- Mixed labor environment including union and non-union operations
- Multiple active operational startups and expansion initiatives
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Provide leadership and oversight for security operations across all assigned regions and locations
- Lead the development and execution of operational strategy for port security services, supporting scalable growth and operational consistency
- Establish operational policies, performance standards, and management accountability across all locations
- Lead and develop the field operations leadership team
- Ensure operational readiness and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
- Identify operational performance gaps and implement corrective actions across locations
Financial Performance & Budget Management
- Own operational P&L performance across all assigned locations, ensuring revenue delivery, cost control, and margin performance
- Develop and manage operational budgets and forecasts
- Conduct monthly operating reviews including actual-to-budget performance analysis
- Monitor labor costs, productivity, and margin performance across all sites
- Ensure labor discipline through scheduling standards and overtime control
- Drive operational improvements that enhance efficiency and financial performance
Workforce Management
- Oversee workforce planning across a large hourly workforce
- Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, and training processes
- Maintain scheduling standards and control overtime utilization
- Partner with HR to maintain consistent employee relations and management practices
- Successfully operate within a mixed labor environment including union and non-union workforces
- Partner with Finance, HR, HS&E and Recruiting teams to support workforce planning, budgeting, and operational performance
Client Relationship & Service Delivery
- Maintain operational alignment with key client relationships across all operating locations
- Partner closely with field leadership to ensure consistent service delivery and operational execution
- Support the company’s largest cruise client relationship through disciplined operational performance and responsiveness
