Physical Therapist II-Phillips Rehabilitation Med Therapy-Mount Sinai Union Square-Full Time, M-Th 12pm to 8pm, Fri 10am to 6:15pm, Some Saturdays 8am to 4:15pm

Performs initial examinations and provides physical therapy intervention to a diverse patient population. Works under the supervision of the Therapy Manager.  This position requires at least five years experience and has the opportunity to rotate across  rehab, and Acute services. The Physical Therapist II will have affiliating students and assume clinical and/or administrative duties.

• Performs initial examinations, establishes appropriate goals, plans and implements treatment interventions, performs timely re-examinations and modifies goals and treatment interventions accordingly. Coordinates with other disciplines when indicated.
• Assumes responsibility for all documentation requirements in a timely manner, i.e., initial examinations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Provides training to families or care partners and medical personnel as indicated.
• Recommends appropriate durable medical equipment in coordination with appropriate team members. Writes letters of medical necessity when indicated.
• Participates in discharge planning, makes recommendations for continued physical therapy and provides home exercise programs when appropriate.
• Attends all appropriate conferences, rounds, in services and meetings.
• Will be assigned additional patients in the event that coverage is necessary as dictated by staffing needs.
• Maintains therapy attendance records, patient charges and statistics.
• Participates in the supervision of Rehab Patient Care Associates, volunteers, and students.
• Must be a current member of the APTA.
• Must follow all MSH policies and procedures.
• Serves as a clinical instructor to students and participates in student development.
• Participates in research as opportunities permit.
• Serves as a resource for coverage and assists the Therapy Manager/Senior Therapists in operational planning.
• Maintains productivity expectations specific to each service.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area

• Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy or higher.
• 5 + years of related experience
• License: Physical Therapy – Graduate from an accredited PT curriculum
• Issuing Agency: DOH/Office of Professions

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $54.48 - $57.73 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
