Job Description:

The University of Northern Iowa’s Interior Design program seeks applications for a temporary Assistant Adjunct Professor in Interior Design, staring in August 2025. The CIDA-accredited Interior Design program at UNI prepares students to be ethical, caring, and creative problem solvers in the interior design profession. 

This position will be responsible for teaching one course in the accredited Interior Design curriculum. This three credit course INTDSGN 4152 - Commercial Design II will be taught in the fall 2025 semester.

Education Requirements:

Earned bachelor's degree in interior design required.

Required Qualifications:

At least three years of experience in interior design; ability to bring practice experience into the classroom; and experience in building and maintaining relationships with industry required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in interior design or related field; NCIDQ certification or significant progress towards NCIDQ certification; LEED professional accreditation; working knowledge of CET Designer; and demonstrated effectiveness in using teaching technologies (e.g., Blackboard) preferred.
