About the business/role/team
The Knowledge Management Department plays a central role in the management of data, information and knowledge assets in support of the RBA’s goals and strategic aims. This entails a broad portfolio of activities that span the governance and protection of these assets over their lifecycle, the management of the systems used to store and share these assets, and the application of collaborative and intelligent technologies to derive greatest benefit from them. A current focus of the department is implementation of the RBA’s AI Strategy and an overarching Knowledge Management Strategy.
The Deputy Head of Knowledge Management will work with the Head of Department to inspire, guide and enable a professionally diverse team in the strategic management of its data, information and knowledge assets.
About the role
Oversee and contribute to the effective performance of the RBA and delivery of the RBA’s strategic priorities by helping to lead the Knowledge Management Department and advancing RBA-wide strategic initiatives.
Motivate, foster and inspire a culture aligned to the RBA’s values, enabling an environment that delivers high levels of staff engagement and performance.
Build an open and dynamic environment that focuses on delivering outcomes, prioritisation, learning and adapting as we go.
Lead, guide and develop employees and teams to achieve team, department, Group and enterprise outcomes effectively.

Foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and key internal and external stakeholders to achieve enterprise outcomes.
About you
Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of technical experts from a range of professions to deliver agreed-upon outputs, including leading through change.
Experience in managing, maintaining and continuously improving operations of a section/unit (budget, people and process management).
Experience anticipating and managing complex risks and engaging with multiple stakeholders to successfully deliver strategic objectives.
Experience in developing policies, systems and processes.
Experience in delivering projects in data, information or knowledge management.
Ability to write and communicate for different audiences, contexts, and objectives.
Ability to credibly represent the RBA at a senior level, in formal and informal settings.
Deep understanding of the principles of data, information and knowledge management with at least 15 years of professional experience in one or more of these domains.
Strong understanding of the purpose of the central bank, and the context in which all functional areas contribute to the strategic goals of the enterprise
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualifications in data or information management, or a related discipline, preferably at postgraduate level, or equivalent experience.
