Indian River Hospital’s 4 South Medical Diabetes Unit is primarily a med/surg unit that also provides care to patients with an insulin drip. As a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) on the team, you will coordinate with fellow caregivers to create a welcoming, healing, and warm environment for patients. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is looking to start their nursing career at Cleveland Clinic and work in a supportive and caring environment.
A caregiver in this position works days from 6:45AM – 7:15PM, with weekend requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assist nursing caregivers, promote patient comfort and carry out nursing orders.
Transport patients by wheelchair, bed or stretcher from the department/unit.
Conduct EKG and phlebotomy duties.
Attend to patient and family needs and problems.
Assist patients with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing and hygiene.
Report pertinent information regarding patient condition to appropriate nursing staff.
Assist patients with tray set up and feeding.
Restock supplies daily and order supplies from Central Supply.
Document care provided in the medical record.
Collect and transport specimens.
Provide RNs/LPNs with accurate and timely
