Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Intern - Software Testing for Summer, 2025. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Accountabilities:

• Understand the scope of testing required for small to medium complexity releases
• Understand the test plans/protocols/procedures for each software release.
• Executes tests according to defined test plans, procedures, and cases.
• Identifies and log defects in the defect tracking tool.
• Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
• Completes specific work as assigned with some assistance. Assignments are varied in nature and limited in scope/complexity

Required Skills/ Knowledge:

• Fundamental knowledge of Linux or UNIX operating system
• Familiarity with basic networking concepts
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Microsoft Windows operating system education/experience
• Microsoft Office, EXCEL and WORD education/experience

Desired Skills/ Knowledge:

• Knowledge/Working experience with scripting languages (for example, Python)

Education / Qualifications:

• Current Engineering student at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December, 2025 and December, 2026.
