We’re looking for a business data enablement lead to join our ranks. The right candidate will drive the strategic use of data across the business by developing policies and processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and relevancy within the enterprise data platform. They will report directly to the senior manager of data governance and work closely with colleagues on the data and analytics team, business stakeholders, and IT to assess, drive requirements, and validate data to ensure it meets quality standards and supports business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging with business groups and/or advisors to understand their needs and translate them into actionable data requirements
- Supporting and training stakeholders in leveraging data to optimize business processes, performance, and strategic goals
- Building out a data quality program and processes that applies data quality framework
- Writing queries to profile data, identify issues, and determine root cause analysis
- Act as the domain subject mater expert (SME), with vast understanding of where to find data (including external sources and the Commonwealth data warehouse)
- Providing analysis and suggest recommendations to IT to correct / clean data
- Working with business groups to build process to review and correct issues with data
- Driving requirements and examples for automating data cleaning business rules
- Validating data to make sure it meets defined standards and business rules through all warehouse layers and reports
- Monitoring and continuously tracks and assesses data to confirm is accuracy and consistency
- Documenting data quality rules and other learnings in Atlan
- Establishing processes for report test cases in JIRA
- Understanding overall data platform applications and architecture
- Creating and prototyping reports in Power BI
- Working closely with PBI report developers and PBI administration on technical end-to-end solutions
- Working closely with business intelligence and data governance management on project planning and technical refinement
Core Strengths and Skills
- Expertise in SQL
- Expertise with data models, databases, data warehouses, and data querying
- Proficiency with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, DAX, GitHub, JIRA
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight. Etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in a Finance or Information Systems-related field
- Ability to communicate business and technical information to people of various backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Great analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong initiative, work ethic, and ambition to drive for results and operate with ambiguity
