Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
Conducts primary source verifications to ensure compliance of relevant information with federal and state regulations, pertaining to medical education and training, work history, licenses, malpractice insurance, certifications, and other verifications.
Assists with creating and maintaining credentialing files for credentialed providers who are processed through the Medical Staff Services Department (MSSD) (active, courtesy, and emeritus).
Provides administrative support to the MSSD as needed.
Assists in data management of the credentialing database.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Details:
Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required
Associate's degree in Business Administration or equivalent training and work experience.
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred. Applicants should pursue certification within 4 years of start.
Experience Required
2 years of administrative/office experience.
Familiar and well-versed in Microsoft Word/Excel and office programs and data-base management systems.
Knowledge of
Corporate, clinical, or hospital operation.
Skills in
Communication, both written and verbal.
Customer service.
Analysis and critical thinking with keen attention to detail.
Multi-tasking, prioritizing projects, time management, and meeting deadlines.
Ability to
Maintain confidentiality.
Deal with the public, employees, and providers diplomatically and respectfully.
Work independently and cordially with others.
Type a minimum of 40 WPM.
Work well under pressure.
