Unit Profile

The Duke Arringdon Ambulatory Surgery Center is a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility located in the Duke Health Center Arringdon in Morrisville, N.C. The center has four operating rooms, four procedure rooms and an overnight unit for extended post-procedure observation if needed. Recently, the Duke ASC Arringdon was accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Accreditation distinguishes this center from many other outpatient facilities through its adherence to rigorous standards of care and safety. We are proud to have met the accreditation challenge and intend to uphold the principles of quality improvement in patient care consistently.

Shift: FOUR, 10-hour shifts - 6:30 am-5 pm OR FIVE, 8-hour shifts - Monday – Friday; 7 am -3:30 pm with flexibility for later start times as needed; no weekends, no holidays, no call.

 

Highly Preferred: Experience in Ophthalmic or Orthopaedic procedures

 

Job Summary

As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University Health System, you will prioritize providing service while caring for the whole person in a patient-centered atmosphere. The Clinical Nurse (RN) provides and supervises direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities. Utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department.

Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patients guided by DUHS Professional Practice model

Participate in the clinical ladder program, educational activities, departmental committees, research projects, or other health-related projects as assigned.

Provide nursing services to patients and families following the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

 

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.

All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and complete the program within five years.

 

Experience

  • At least 1 year of Operating Room experience in clinical nursing practice.

 

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

  • Must have current or compact RN license in the State of North Carolina.
  • AHA BLS certification is required
