Patient Access Representatives deliver what matters most to our patients and their families, ensure exceptional experiences and thrive on making positive impacts in the community. As a Patient Access Representative, you will pre-register and greet patients as well as verify information and collect copays. You are the first person the patient will interact with once they are through security, and you will set the tone for how the visit goes. Patients are not at their best during an Emergency Department visit, making empathy a vital trait for this caregiver to have. Your role is essential to ensuring a seamless model of access for patients, physicians and family members.
A caregiver in this position works 24 hours per week with availability between 3:00AM – 3:00PM, including every other weekend and 3 holidays per year.
*Please note that if you are selected, you will need to attend a 2-week EPIC training starting on your first day. The training is Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 4:30PM on-site at Stow Health and Wellness. You will need to attend all days of this training. Once the training is complete, you will then start work on your assigned schedule/shift. In order to be considered, you will need to acknowledge that you are able to attend the full duration of the training.*
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial.
Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register.
Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.
Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role
