We are seeking an Application Architecture / Technical Lead to support a project with a large government agency. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to support application solution architecture, rationalization, and low-code workflow engineering support needs.

RESPONSBILITIES:

The Application Architecture / Technical lead will:·

• Support the intake of applications into the branch portfolio for custom and low/no code development support.· Upon intake, for an existing application, strategically assess it to determine support and service needs.
• Work with the Chief Technology Office (CTO), Operations and Service Delivery (OSD), and other Directorates within the agency in areas as necessary to conduct a wide array of strategic and application architecture efforts as requested, including but not limited to:
  • 1) Conducting application rationalization.
  • 2) Developing modernization plans and technical roadmaps.
  • 3) Create proposed application architecture drawings/renderings with all proposed relevant technical details.
  • 4) Present proposed architecture/technical approach to appropriate governance boards for approval.
  • 5) Developing mock-ups and demonstrational/pilot applications.· Upon intake, for new application requests, work with the end user to document their needs. If needed to clearly document expectations and estimate resource needs, produce mock-ups and/or demonstrational/pilot applications to address the business need.·
  • Work with the Chief Technology Office (CTO), OSD, and other Directorate areas as necessary to provide recommendations to branch management on opportunities for avoiding duplicate efforts (including interfaces) for systems and system applications.·
  • Draft an application support plan for how branch will support the needs of the application.·
  • Draft a resource support plan to accompany the branch support plan. The resource plan must detail the types of resources needed for the tasks identified in the support plan, the skill sets needed, and the recommended duration and sequencing of those resources. Duration recommendations must be provided with rationale based on industry best practices, when available.·
  • Discuss for each application both the branch support plan and resource support plan with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR)/Branch Program Manager/designee.·
  • Participate in weekly branch meetings to share expertise and recommendations.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to development teams to support and build a strong culture of secure and efficient development.·
  • Set standards for application development practices in alignment with agency standards.· Drive development teams and serve as an expert advisor to overcome development challenges
