Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector has many opportunities on the horizon for Principal Program Cost Control Analysts in multiple locations on the East, Central and West Coast markets who possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Clearance or Special Compartmented Information Access.

Our Principal Program Cost Control Analyst will help prepare budgets and schedules for contract work and assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlooks, cash forecasting and variance analysis. You will also work to ensure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation for expenditure projections and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government. 

Your Role and Impact:

  • Set up cost control system, monitor and control costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system
  • Support audits and reviews requested by programs, customers, and company management, fact-finding and negotiation support 
  • Perform analysis and prepare reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines 
  • Perform Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, budget baseline, cost risk analysis/ assessment and visibility reports, development and analysis of estimates to complete 
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of stated professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3+ years of stated professional experience
  • Will consider an additional 4+ years of stated experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience with financial analysis or reporting 
  • Experience with MS Office Suite 
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Requires an active Department of Defense (DOD) Top-Secret Clearance and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Defense industry experience 
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience
  • Military Leadership Experience  
  • Program Cost Control experience 
  • Experience with FAR/DFAR 
  • Experience with Costpoint, Cobra, Primavera or SAP 
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret, Top-Secret, etc.)
