About the role

Summary: Staff designated at Dickinson Wright PLLC (“the Firm”) as Project Manager, Talent Management Solutions will advance the firm’s strategic goals by leading people-centered systems implementations and organizational initiatives. This role resides in the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and partners closely with Human Resources, Recruiting, and IT.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities of staff designated as Project Manager, Talent Management Solutions at the Firm include but are not limited to:

  1. Project Leadership & Execution
    • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations.
    • Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability.
    • Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, and scope changes.
    • Maintain tools and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into project status and KPIs for stakeholders and leadership.
    • Ensure timely, clear communication with stakeholders at all levels, including regular status updates and executive reporting.
  2. Human Capital Systems Delivery
    • Lead end-to-end project management for implementations, upgrades, and optimization of human capital systems, including performance management, compensation and succession planning, and learning management (e.g., Cornerstone).
    • Manage projects related to recruiting, onboarding, and attorney integration platforms (e.g., Rival), coordinating across HR, Recruiting, and IT to ensure seamless configuration and user adoption.
    • Partner with stakeholders to define system requirements, workflow design, testing approaches, and go-live readiness, including data migration, integrations, training, and post-launch stabilization.
  3. Organizational & Workplace Initiatives
    • Lead project management for large-scale organizational transitions, including lateral group integrations, coordinating across recruiting, onboarding, technology provisioning, and operational readiness workstreams.
    • Serve as the project manager for office build-out and workplace transition projects, coordinating across Facilities, IT, HR, and practice leadership to meet timeline, budget, and business continuity requirements.
    • Develop and execute stakeholder communications plans for initiatives with high attorney visibility or firm-wide impact.
  4. Governance, Risk, and Change Management
    • Establish and maintain project governance routines (steering committee cadence, decision logs, change control) scaled to initiative complexity.
    • Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies, sequencing constraints, and interdependencies across concurrent initiatives.
    • Develop and execute change management plans to drive user adoption; measure and report on adoption rates and project impact.
    • Maintain clear project documentation (charters, plans, testing plans, cutover plans, runbooks) to support auditability and operational handoff.
    • Support continuous improvement of EPMO processes, policies, and systems.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required:

Project Manager, Talent Management Solutions must have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Project Management, or a related field and/or a minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a focus on a legal or professional services environment.
  2. Demonstrated experience delivering human capital system implementations or upgrades (e.g., performance management, LMS, ATS/onboarding platforms), including requirements definition, testing, and go-live support.
  3. Experience managing complex organizational transitions such as large lateral group integrations, office build-outs, or multi-workstream workforce programs.
  4. Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions in accordance with deadlines.
  5. High degree of emotional intelligence and interpersonal effectiveness, with the ability to build trust across sensitive, people-centered initiatives.
  6. Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of work across all levels of the organization.
  7. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Predictive) and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Microsoft Teams, Asana, JIRA).
  8. Willingness to pursue relevant certifications such as PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or CMPAI (Certified Manager of Process Automation and Innovation), if not already h
