The Job:  
As an Environmental Engineer, you’ll be part of our Allentown, PA team working as an onsite employee.    You’ll get to:   

  • Support Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) functions by providing document control and maintenance, assisting with the implementation and continued development of programs, policies, procedures and practices, and conducting EHS project work.  Understands and supports company policies and procedures, including those related to EH&S and abides by all EH&S regulations and policies.
  • Input monthly waste and utility usage in appropriate data base and maintain facility EPA hazardous waste records
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal, environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization
  • Facilitate environmental and sustainability training and awareness programs and lead initiatives to reduce waste and improve resource efficiency, and monitor environmental performance and report on progress
  • Manage environmental audits, incidents and assessments and provide technical advice on environmental management
  • Assist with design, implementation, and delivery of plant safety training, including new employee safety orientation, Job Safety Analysis, Job Functional Evaluations, PPE Hazard Assessments, identification of root cause(s) of incidents, and resolution investigations in alignment with Operations, Quality, and Continuous Improvement.  Assist in investigating and preparing reports for safety incidents. 
  • Assist in conducting Job Safety Analysis, Job Functional Evaluations, PPE Hazard Assessments, identification of root cause(s) of incidents, and resolution investigations in alignment with Operations, Quality, and Continuous Improvement.  Assist in investigating and preparing reports for safety incidents. 
  • Maintain accurate and updated documentation for the EHS department to include inventory lists, chemical lists, inspection lists, audits, training records and ISO documentation as well as prepare and manage permits and regulatory documentation

The Person:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in any environmental or sustainability management preferred
  • 2 years EH&S, environmental management, compliance and sustainability experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience with sustainability, CSR initiatives and environmental audits, assessment and mitigation
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal, State and Local environmental regulations, compliance and permitting regulations
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, and ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 standards. Internal auditor preferred.
