As a Flight Software Intern, you’ll create the software that makes our satellites function in orbit. We are looking for software interns that can write (and test!) robust embedded C/C++. Your code will run on our custom avionics, process signals from sensors like our star trackers, and command actuators like the propulsion system.
Over the course of our 10-12 week internship experience you will have the opportunity to:
Implement designs in C/C++, integrate software components, create and run unit tests, validate on Hardware-in-the-Loop and release real-time embedded solutions
Assist with system verification and qualification, assessing the outputs and documenting the results to ensure software products that meet system requirements and mission-critical standards
Work with hardware engineers to verify hardware-hardware and hardware-software interfaces
Perform code reviews to ensure the software being developed is functionally correct, efficient, and meets our coding standards
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
These positions must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Additionally, some positions may require the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2026
Pursuing bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar with focus on software development
Experience in C and C++ programming
Experience with Linux in an embedded environment and/or bare metal C on a microcontroller
Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation date on or after August 2026
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above)
Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations
Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research or engineering internships
Exceptional communication skills and interest and enthusiasm related to engineering, aerospace and a career with Boeing
Junior or Senior class standing
Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
