Job Description Summary
The Overhaul Facilities Major Project Engineer is a new position and will provide technical and project leadership expertise, and guidance for all WW Overhaul Centers. This role is based in DeSoto, Texas and will specialize in large scope projects where specific expertise is required. Has working knowledge of regulations, building codes, and other engineering fields as they relate to facilities. Additionally, incumbent will provide guidance, and expertise in all aspects of power distribution systems, mechanical and HVAC systems, construction, and facility project management. This role must be able to establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relationships with others in accomplishing major engineering projects.
Partial relocation is available for this position
This position helps set technical priorities and direction and will provide training and guidance to the WW Facilities community to include other engineers, technicians, and leadership. Contacts will be varied and will include management, customers, suppliers, and employees at international product centers in Czech Republic, Australia, Mexico, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The majority of activities and support will be provided for the WW Overhaul Center in DeSoto Texas.
This position supports all aspects of WW Overhaul Facilities with the priorities and agenda set forth by WW Facilities Leadership.
Interact with different levels of inter-organizational personnel, vendors, and consultants. May represent the company in meetings with governmental and public utility authorities that relate to construction codes, safety orders, OSHA, environmental and utility services.
Strong customer interaction skills, the ability to identify and solve problems independently and strong computer literacy are critical for success. Managing a wide variety of activities, programs, and projects with a sense of urgency and with attention to detail is also expected. Working in a team environment is critical and providing direction to others with different cultural and technical backgrounds is necessary for success.
This position directly reports to the WW Overhaul Facility Manager.
The position is located in DeSoto, Texas and is not a remote position. Relocation assistance is available.
Primary Challenges and Responsibilities:
Specializes in large scope projects where specific expertise is needed.
Responsible for the implementation of major facilities processes, maintenance and/or construction; and the coordination of that work with the total facility.
Develop plans for facilities projects, prepares, and establishes priorities for cost effectiveness, manages budgeting/expense & capital accounting/purchasing matters associated with the work and communicates with interested parties.
Provides guidance and subject expertise to facilities personnel and leadership in a continuous effort to improve facilities operations. Works with suppliers, consultants, and government entities/regulatory agencies in the development of projects that ensure sustainable and cost-effective facilities.
Adheres to established industry and enterprise standards, policies and practices relating to safety, quality, schedule, cost, accounting, purchasing and regulatory compliance in performing assigned duties
Assist in the development of Facility practices and safety programs. protocols, technologies, and standards to be uniformly applied at all Overhaul centers.
Requires occasional international travel and working irregular hours in support of facilities located in multiple time zones.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction engineering/management or related discipline.
7-9 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or facility project management.
High energy level and sense of urgency, ability to manage multiple priorities.
Team player with passion for customer service, problem solving, learning and continuous improvement.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
